There are so many great places to walk, so why do we not do more of it? For starters, I think we get bored with our own sidewalks or trails and don't know where else to go. While looking to find a good place to go fishing I discovered many of the public lakes and parks around Asheville have paths around them. This photo is of Azalea Lake. If you're familiar with the Azalea Park soccer fields near the nature center, just keep driving and in a half mile or so, you run into the dog park and the lake. Another good place to walk is Charles Owen Park in Swannanoa. It has a figure 8 loop around 2 small lakes and goes past the Swannanoa River. So, go find a new place to walk and don't forget to use the Buncombe Country greenways!
